Bloc 11 is still the best quality indoor climbing facility that I've been to. Problems are very well set, the holds are of excellent quality and wall texture is friendly. Further to the fun problems (which may make you feel like a kid in a candy store) there is a well equipped training area and I highly recommend the yoga classes. Bloc11 yoga schedule
All of our classes are planned and taught with climbers in mind! We aim to provide complementary training that will enhance our climbing by practicing:
  • BALANCE both static and dynamic. On hands, elbows, knees, feet and heads! ⁠
  • FOCUS on how to most effectively move with control⁠
  • STRENGTH core! shoulders! forearms! legs! ⁠
  • FLEXIBILITY so we can move more freely⁠
  • BREATH CONTROL because if you forget to breathe shit starts to spiral out of control! ⁠
⁠ 👆These are all fundamentals to being able to have fun whilst climbing strong! Which is why we do it right?!
No prior yoga experience is needed. Our classes cater to those trying yoga for the first time as well as experienced practitioners. Bookings:

Please note: classes get full so if you cannot make it kindly let us know (call front desk) so we can open up a space for another yogi friend :)

Yin Yoga

Yin is a mentally stronger, physically slower practice that aims to give the body some TLC and relaxation. These classes aim to restore and reset the body by spending extended periods of time (2-3 minutes) in postures that allow release within the fascial system; the connective tissue that envelops parts of the body - organs, bones, nerves, muscles, tendons.
Mandy’s Yin classes merge the east and west by sequencing yoga to target specific meridians according to Chinese Medicine. At a physical level this provides more mobility and conditions the body's joints for a wider range of motion and movement. Beyond this, we learn to regulate and prime the nervous system for calm and focus. Ultimately, the Yin practice tonifies the body's organs to maximise Chi.

Yoga for climbers

n these classes we practice yoga poses and transitions that mirror climbing movement patterns! ⁠We aim to move steady, building stability, through fun sequences that provide opportunities for practicing techniques, like heel hooks and drops knees, on the mat!⁠
We stretch out major muscle groups that get tight from pulling ourselves up all the climbs to gain flexibility and release tension.

Vinyasa

These classes are dynamic; moving at a faster pace between postures whilst syncing breath to movement. Postures are slightly more advanced in the flow classes compared to the Yoga for Climbers classes so a little bit of yoga experience will aid your flow, however as always we do our best to teach classes that are accessible to beginner yogi friends.

Climbing Fitness

The conditioning classes are hard, it wouldn’t be conditioning if it wasn’t, but they are approachable for anyone from the novice athlete right through to the seasoned pros. You don’t need any equipment and the difficulty is self-paced, sp pull through once or twice a week to get your sweat on! You can expect pushups, squats, crunches and many more drills that build fitness.

Mobility Yoga

In these classes we set up each posture mindfully, finding the correct muscle activations and alignments so that we can get the maximum benefit from each position held and movement made. This is a great class for beginners and those wanting to deepen their understanding and practice of fundamental yoga postures and breathwork.
